Calls POST /api/finance/clawbacks/{id}/decide as the signed-in person · REST reference

Approve or deny a REQUESTED payout clawback (platform staff)

Records Pawsitive Future's decision. An approval pauses the service provider's payouts, sends it the written notice (the amount, the claim, the reason, and how to contest within 30 days) and then executes the clawback — reverses the payout's Stripe transfer, or for PFF_DISCRETIONARY recovers by offset only — so the answer carries noticeSentAt and transferReversalState. A notice that does not send leaves the clawback APPROVED with noticeSentAt: null and nothing recovered; an execution that does not finish is retried by POST /api/finance/clawbacks/{id}/execute. Either way the decision stands (200). A denial of a clawback the service provider filed is emailed to it. An approval's fee liability is the one named, else the one Pawsitive Future's filing proposed, else SERVICE_PROVIDER; Pawsitive Future may absorb the fees on any clawback, and can change who pays while it is collected (PUT /api/finance/clawbacks/{id}/fee-liability). An approval also records whether the voucher stops counting as help delivered once the clawback resolves (voucherValueReversed): the reason's default (voucherValueReversedByDefault) unless named, and required for a reason with none (PFF_DISCRETIONARY, OTHER) — approving one without it is refused (400). A denial takes neither (400).

Result

On success (HTTP 200) the tool returns one text item holding the API's JSON, pretty-printed.

Fields

FieldTypeDescription
amountintegerCENTS asked back — at most creditedAmount.
approvedAtinteger | null
approvedBystring (uuid) | null
creditedAmountintegerCENTS the voucher's approval credited — what its payout paid.
currencystring
deniedAtinteger | null
deniedBystring (uuid) | null
feeCentsintegerCENTS of recovery fee assessed; 0 until a fee is realized.
feeLiabilityobject | nullProposed when Pawsitive Future files the clawback, set by an approval; null on a clinic's filing until it is approved, and on a denial.
feeWaiverConsumedbooleanWhether Pawsitive Future absorbs this approved clawback's processing cost.
filedBy"SERVICE_PROVIDER" | "PAWSITIVE_FUTURE"Who filed a clawback — the service provider that was paid, or Pawsitive Future staff.
idstring (uuid)The clawback's ledger transaction.
initiatedBystring (uuid) | nullThe user who filed it.
initiatorOrgIdstring (uuid) | nullThe service provider that filed it; null when Pawsitive Future did.
memostring | null
orgIdstring (uuid)The service provider the payout went to.
orgNamestring | null
paidAtinteger | nullEpoch milliseconds the voucher was paid out.
payoutStripeTransferIdstring | nullThat payout's Stripe transfer (tr_…), when it recorded one.
payoutTransactionIdstring (uuid) | nullThe org's PAYOUT settlement created at the voucher's paidAt; null when none matches.
reasonCode"PFF_DISCRETIONARY" | "PROCEDURE_NOT_COMPLETED" | "BENEFICIARY_DISPUTE" | "DUPLICATE_OR_ERRONEOUS_PAYOUT" | "DONATION_REVERSED" | "OTHER"Why a clawback was filed. A service provider files PROCEDURE_NOT_COMPLETED, BENEFICIARY_DISPUTE or OTHER about a payout it received; the rest are Pawsitive Future's findings. OTHER needs a memo of at least 20 characters.
requestedAtintegerEpoch milliseconds.
status"REQUESTED" | "APPROVED" | "DENIED" | "EXECUTING" | "RECOVERED" | "PARTIALLY_RECOVERED" | … (7 values)A payout clawback's lifecycle, kept apart from its ledger transaction's status. Filing and deciding reach REQUESTED, APPROVED and DENIED; the rest follow execution. RECOVERED is "cash confirmed": Pawsitive Future has confirmed the full amount is back in hand, never merely a booked reversal.
transferReversalStateobject | null
voucherCodestring
voucherIdstring (uuid)
voucherValueReversedboolean | nullDecided at approval, beside the money: whether the voucher stops counting as help delivered once the clawback resolves. Null until approved, and on a denial.
voucherValueReversedByDefaultboolean | nullWhat an approval records as voucherValueReversed when the approver does not say — set by the reason: true for PROCEDURE_NOT_COMPLETED, BENEFICIARY_DISPUTE and DUPLICATE_OR_ERRONEOUS_PAYOUT, false for DONATION_REVERSED. Null for PFF_DISCRETIONARY and OTHER, which have no default: an approval must say.
cashConfirmationSourcestring | nullThe kinds of recovery the confirmed cash came by, comma-joined.
cashConfirmedAtinteger | nullWhen the full amount was confirmed back — what RECOVERED means.
noticeMessageIdstring | null
noticeSentAtinteger | nullWhen the service provider was sent the written notice. Null after an approval means the notice did not send: nothing is recovered, payouts are paused, and POST /api/finance/clawbacks/{id}/execute retries it.
offsetPendingAmountintegerCENTS its offset payouts have moved that no OFFSET leg has recorded yet — settled, the transfer not confirmed. A failed one stays counted until the reconcile records it or it is released (POST /api/finance/clawbacks/{id}/offsets/{payoutTransactionId}/release).
originalStripeTransferIdstring | nullThe payout transfer (tr_…) the reversal reverses.
outstandingAmountintegerCENTS still owed while it is being collected (APPROVED, EXECUTING); 0 once closed.
pausesPayoutsbooleanWhether this clawback pauses its service provider's payouts: APPROVED or EXECUTING, or PARTIALLY_RECOVERED / WRITTEN_OFF until payouts are resumed.
payoutsResumedAtinteger | null
payoutsResumedBystring (uuid) | null
payoutsResumedReasonstring | null
recoveredAmountintegerCENTS recovered so far — its confirmed recovery legs.
stripeReversalIdstring | nullThe transfer reversal (trr_…), once booked.
transferReversalLastErrorstring | nullThe last failed reversal attempt's error; null once one succeeds.
transferReversalUpdatedAtinteger | nullEpoch milliseconds the reversal outbox state was last written; null when none was. A PENDING older than two minutes is read as a reversal whose synchronous call died.
writtenOffAtinteger | null
writtenOffBystring (uuid) | null
writtenOffMemostring | null
feesAbsorbedBeforeintegerHow many of the service provider's other approved clawbacks Pawsitive Future absorbed the processing cost of — what the approver weighs for a repeat.

When it fails

A failed call returns isError: true with the API's message as text. A change the person declines, or lets time out, also comes back this way and nothing changes.

400

The request was malformed or failed a guard.

403

Authenticated, but the caller holds none of the required permissions.

404

No such clawback.

409

The clawback is not awaiting a decision. Carries the DAL's sentence.
